10 Most Livable Countries in the World

Norway

Pack your bags because you may want to move to one of the most livable countries in the world! Based on the most recent release of the Human Development Index by the United Nations Development Programme, 24/7 Wall St. identified the most and least livable countries in the world. It is based on three dimensions of human progress — having a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable, and having a good standard of living.

According to this index, Norway is the most livable country in the world, and Niger is the least livable. A huge influence of this is income. Norway had the world’s sixth highest gross national income per capita of $63,909. The Democratic Republic of the Congo had the lowest gross national income per capita in the world, at just $444 last year.

Another huge factor is life expectancy. Switzerland, Australia, and Singapore had life expectancies greater than 82 years for individuals born in 2013. Following the same metric, the United States is pretty behind. Sierra Leone had the worst life expectancy of 45.6 years.

And finally, education had an impact on the results. In the more developed countries on the list, the average amount of educational years residents had was 12 and for the lower countries, the average was less than 4. What do you think of these new reports? What other factors do you think affect these results?
