2014-bet-hip-hop-awards-previewHip-hop lovers, take notice!

The biggest night in hip hop is just around the corner. The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards are next Tuesday, and we have the rundown on all the artists who will be performing!

Snoop Dogg will be hosting this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards which will air Tuesday night from Atlanta at 8 p.m. ET. Awards were handed out Saturday.

The star-studded music bash will feature live performances from hip hop stars, tributes to the most influential figures in the industry, and cyphers from some of the biggest names in the music genre right now. Nelly and Teyana Taylor will be presenting trophies to the winners this year, and it looks like competition will be fierce.

Case in point: Drake, Future, Iggy Azalea, J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa and Nicki Minaj are all competing to take home the top spot for best music video. It’s hard to tell who will take home the trophy with all of the memorable music videos that have come out this year!

Eminem and Rihanna, Future and Pharrell, and Jay Z and Justin Timberlake are some of the big names competing for the top honor in the collaborations and group category.

One of the big questions is how this year’s artists are going to compare to last year’s. After last year’s memorable Kendrick Lamar freelance, this year's performers have a lot to live up to. Wiz Khalifa and his Taylor Gang crew are some of the performers who are slated for the cypher section.

The show will kick off with a performance by rapper T.I. whose top 40 hits include "Whatever You Like," "Dead and Gone (feat. Justin Timberlake)" and "Live Your Life (featuring Rihanna)." Fan favorites Bobby Shmurda and Ty Dolla $ign will also help start off the awards show.

One of the artists we are most excited to see is native Chicagoan Common, formerly known as Common Sense, who mixes social awareness with hip hop.

Common's time on stage will not only be entertaining but emotional and powerful too as he will bring onto the stage the parents of Michael Brown, an unarmed young black man who was killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

Other artists to look out for include Birdman, DJ Premiere, DJ Mustard, Rich Homie Quan, Young Thug, Vince Staples, Jay Electronica, Migos, YG, Rae Sremmurd, Yo Yo, MC Lyte, and Brandy.

Who are you most excited to see perform this year? Who do you think is going to win?
