2014 MTV Video Music Awards: Winners List

Share It

Twerking Miley Cyrus dominated last year's MTV Video Music Awards.

It was a tough viral act to beat, but several incredible performances and big wins made for a memorable award show this year. Honestly, we probably weren't prepared for how surprising and #Flawless the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards would be. The further the show progressed, the further our jaws dropped - and so did the jaws of our favorite artists!

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards was a night filled with unexpected moments and winners, beginning with Katy Perry winning Best Female Video for "Black Horse," which was the dark horse of the category.

Next, Pharrell's global smash-hit "Happy" (which has nearly 400,000 YouTube views) went 0-2, losing Best Male Video and Video of the Year.

Further to our astonishment, the moonman for Artist To Watch went to girl group Fifth Harmony over angelic British singer Sam Smith. However, undoubtedly the biggest O-M-G moment came at the show's conclusion, with Beyoncé (who went 4-9 in VMA wins) absolutely bringing the house down during her killer performance and tearful acceptance speech for the Vanguard Award.

Take a look at the complete winners list from the 2014 MTV VMAs posted below!
