TV veterans and newcomers alike to compete at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards.

The 66th annual Emmy Awards will air August 25 and within the nominations are a great mix of our favorite actors and actresses competing for the win. While veterans of the Emmys are some likely winners, newcomers like Lizzy Caplan from Masters of Sex and Taylor Schilling for the hit, Orange is the New Black, are competing for the gold as well.

Mindy Kaling and Carson Daly had the honor of announcing the nominees in a live webcast Thursday morning. Favs like Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, and Mad Men are all in a tight race for the win, but let’s break down the nominations.

Walking away with the most nominations is HBO’s Game of Thrones with 19 nods. Behind them is Fargo with 18 nominations and American Horror Story: Coven with 17. Getting nominated for 19 Emmy awards before 6am is not a bad way to start the day.

Lead actor in a drama series is filled with talented actors like Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom), Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), and Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey both for True Detective. McConaughey is the expected winner who has already had a victorious year with his win at the Oscars.

For best comedy actress, HBO’s Veep star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is nominated for the third year in a row and she has won both years previously. Against Dreyfus are Lena Dunham (Girls), Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black) and the queen of comedy, Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation).

The leading actress in a drama series category includes Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Claire Danes (Homeland), and newbie Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex).
