    You’ve done your best to prevent a cold but somehow it still hit you!  Well don’t despair here are 5 things you can do to help shorten the length of your cold that really work. 

  • Blow your nose

    Blow your nose often… but the right way.  You don’t’ want to blow too hard and cause an earache.  Simply hold you’re the tissue over your nose and gently blow out one nostril and then the other.  Then remember to wash your hands.

  • Sleep more

    Stay in bed as much as you can.  There’s nothing better to help the body heal than to rest.

  • Gargle often

    Gargle often

    Gargling can moisten a sore throat and bring some relief.  Try a teaspoon of salt in warm water and gargle.  You can also gargle with tea – they  have tannins that help tighten membranes to provide relief or try a mixture of honey and apple cider vinegar for relief. 

  • Drink hot liquids

    Drinking hot liquids can help relieve nasal congestion and help prevent dehydration.

  • Take a steam shower

    Take a steam shower

    Take a steam shower.  This is a great way to relax and moisturize your irritated nasal passages.
