Sure you can make donations, wear some pink or partake in a breast cancer walk, but what about doing a breast cancer walk in heels or making cookies made into the shape of mammograms?

Make the most of October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month by getting creative to support the cause. Check out these 6 funny, supportive ways people are recognizing breast cancer that will bring out a smile.

Puppy Love

The UK edition of Cosmopolitan and London-based self-examination advocate organization CoppaFeel! are posting pics of puppies with bras to remind their Facebook and Twitter followers to get monthly breast exams. Stiletto Stampede

Ditch the gym shoes and race for the cure in your stilettos! The race has become an annual event in Austin, Texas with participants racing the 100-yard dash in their pumps! For information on the non-profit that organizes the 'stampede,' check out their website by clicking here!

An a cappella take on The Divinyls' 1990 classic anthem "I Touch Myself." Chrissy Amphlett found out her case was terminal and had the song repurposed to encourage women to check their breasts for cancer.

Literally Standup to Cancer

Comedian Tig Notaro announced her breast cancer diagnosis during a standup show, in the now famous 'I Have Cancer' set, available on iTunes. The comedian received enthusiastic reviews for bringing a touch of humor to a very serious and personal topic.

Notaro's stand up set shows that being sick doesn't mean being sad and reminds us of how much help laughter can be.
