Now we have absolutely no excuse to be out of shape. Mad Max: Fury Road, which has been in theaters for almost a month, features the gorgeous Charlize Theron in a memorable and butt-kicking role alongside other notable actors including Nicholas Hoult, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Zoe Kravitz, and Riley Keough.
However, it might be the stunts in the background you’re noticing that are truly eye-catching. Melissa Jaffer, a known and recognizable Australian actress has starred in handfuls of Australian films - which probably has something to do with Jaffer being able to perform her own stunts.
Granted, we haven’t seen her other work, but Jaffer is 78-years-old and throughout the Mad Max installment of the film, the DIY actress is seen fighting on moving vehicles and doing other hardball activities that aren’t being featured in senior living facilities.
Jaffer says she and the other actresses did all their own stunts throughout filming.
“And I got feeling from a lot of the crew members that they didn’t think it was right for women of my age to be doing that sort of thing. You know, sometimes they’d come up and say, oh, [George Miller] shouldn’t ask you to do that. And I would say why? And they’d say, well, because you’re an older woman. I did it, and I have to say, I enjoyed every minute of it.”
Melissa Jaffer, will you teach all the women half your age how to jump off a moving car, too?
