I've got a new treatment for migraines.
If you’ve ever suffered from a migraine (based on the current statistics, chances are you are among the 40 million Americans who suffer from them) you know how debilitating they can be. The pain immobilizes you to the point where you can’t function and every movement causes excruciating pain. You’ve also probably tried everything under the sun to get rid of the headaches, and nothing worked. That is, until now.
Due to significant developments within the medical community, the stars may have finally aligned for people who suffer from migraine headaches and other primary headache disorders.
Dr. Jeffrey Weinzweig, a board certified plastic surgeon and one of the foremost international experts in craniofacial surgery, has developed a new paradigm for headache treatment that can prevent, reduce, and often eliminate chronic headache pain, without the use of daily prescription medication.
Dr. Weinzweig is able to do this using a revolutionary treatment that can relieve headache symptoms in as little as 60 seconds. Dr. Weinzweig is one of the first physicians in the country to be able to offer this treatment to his patients. Dr. Weinzweig’s protocol involves targeting the nerves in the head that trigger migraines with a brand new device called an HR60 SPG Block and you guessed it…Botox.
How It Works
Sphenopalatine ganglion block is where anesthetic is delivered into the nasal passage way that targets the sphenoplatine ganglion. Most patients feel better instantly when the block occurs. It is believed that the block reduces the release of norepinepherine in the body, the chemical that activates pain nerves. SPG Ganglion blocks also may be used as part of a treatment plan where a series of treatments are administered over a few months. The goal of the series is to reduce headaches by the desensitization of the sphenopalatine ganglion.
“The results we have been able to achieve at our Headache Response Clinics in Chicago have been nothing short of amazing. We’re able to improve or eliminate headache symptoms in as little as 60 seconds. We’ve had patients come in describing their headache pain level as an 8 and within minutes we can get that number down to a 1 or 2.” The vast majority of clinics that specialize in headaches prescribe very strong pharmaceuticals, and with this comes the risk of dependency on them.
Dr. Weinzweig says that the advent of utilizing Botox to treat headaches was just a matter of time. “After years of treating patients with Botox to reduce those telltale signs of aging, they were telling us that they weren’t experiencing migraines as often or as severely.” After years of research and testing, the FDA recently approved the use of the drug to manage chronic migraines and non-invasive surgical intervention, and is now clinically proven to provide long term relief.
