A Mom's Guide to Health

Living a healthy lifestyle? It can be tough but fulfilling.

Helping your whole family have a healthy lifestyle? Also tough, but incredibly worth it! Moms have plenty on their plates as it is. So when it comes to what they’re actually going to put on a plate or how they’ll make food before it gets there, there’s a lot of thought and love involved.

Here’s a Mom’s Guide to Health to help any mom in need of quick and easy tips for a healthy, happy family!

Take Care of Those You Love… and Cook Deliciously!

As we mentioned, there can be a lot of thought going into how you’ll make a good meal for your family. Whether it’s you or the hubby taking on this task, use beneficial ingredients such as Mazola® corn oil! *A recent study shows Mazola® corn oil lowers cholesterol more than extra virgin olive oil. Simply use a few teaspoons when grilling, sautéing, stir frying or even baking.

Workout Picnics

Get your family together with some blankets, baskets of food and comfy workout gear and head to the park for a “Workout Picnic”! Venturing out into nature provides bountiful opportunities for family fitness, including hikes, biking or jogging. After some friendly competition like a family race, cool down by stretching in the grass and then chowing down on a healthy meal. Try these “Workout Picnics” any time of year – sunny summers or crisp cool fall. You can even make it a monthly, if not weekly, family outing!

A Smile A Day…

Sure, cooking and working out are two surefire ways to keep your family feeling good inside and out. Yet what many don’t consider are how things beneficial to your mind and soul can also improve your overall health. Simple actions such as putting sweet notes in your child’s lunch box can mean so much each day, and massively over time. Try this idea to improve your family’s wellness and overall health: every so often at dinner, have everyone discuss something that made them happy or feel good that day. May sound cheesy, but at the end of a long day, it’s nice to hear something that’ll make you smile.
