On Dec. 2, American Idol Alumnus Adam Lambert and members of 1970's rock band Queen performed a rendition of their famous hit, "Somebody to Love" on The X Factor UK.
Lambert's talented vocals did justice to the former front man Freddie Mercury, who always maintained a charismatic attitude on stage with energetic vocals to match.
Towards the end of the performance, the rest of the show's contestants joined in.
"The energy which we generate in an arena is I would say as strong as ever — and I think Freddie would agree with me," Queen's Brian May told Neu Magazine. "I don’t think he would be upset with me saying that. I think the Queen show today that we do with Adam Lambert is the equal of anything we ever did."
Mercury passed away in 1991 because of AIDS related complications. His personality and motivation built a foundation of the band's success.
Starting in January, Lambert and the band will take "Somebody to Love" and other classic hits on a European tour. Other hits include "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Don't Stop me Now" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". The tour will promote the band's new compilation album, Queen Forever.
