The hilarious Amy Poehler talks about divorce in upcoming book.

Funny woman and actress Amy Poehler is opening up about her divorce from husband of ten years, Will Arnett, 44, in her new book Yes, Please. The two announced their split in September 2012 but have been mum about details until now.

In Poehler’s memoir, on stands Oct. 28, the comedienne reveals her struggle to overcome divorce and moving on with her two children.

Like most Amy Poehler fans know, the actress has starred alongside ex-husband in multiple roles over the years. After originally appearing in four episodes of Arrested Development together after their 2003 wedding, the pair played siblings in the 2007 comedy Blades of Glory, alongside Will Ferrell and Jenna Fischer.

Arnett also starred in a guest-role on Poehler’s sitcom, NBC’s Parks and Recreation. In the episode, Arnett and Poehler are on a date, which ends in a hilariously awkward way - Arnett putting Poehler through a CAT scan.

Although their onscreen relationship seemed witty and lovable as both actors are, their marriage fell apart after ten years and two children.

"Imagine spreading everything you care about on a blanket and then tossing the whole thing up in the air. The process of divorce is about loading that blanket, throwing it up, watching it all spin, and worrying what stuff will break when it lands," Poehler said.

Tina Fey’s BFF confesses to feeling alone during the split.

"When you are a person going through a divorce you feel incredibly alone, yet you are constantly reminded by society of how frequently divorce happens and how common it has become. You aren’t allowed to feel special, but no one knows the specific ways you are in pain."

Poehler avoids going into too much detail in her book about why she and Arnett didn’t make it. She does say though of shared sons Archie, 5, and Able, 6, "I am proud of how my ex-husband Will and I have been taking care of our children. I am beyond grateful he is their father, and I don’t think a 10-year marriage constitutes failure.”

All in all, "Getting a divorce really sucks," according to Poehler.

Since Arnett filed for divorce in April 2014, Poehler has moved on and found love with comedian Nick Kroll.

"I have a boyfriend who knows how to settle me. He puts his hand on my chest and tells me boring stories... One of our first nights together I woke up apologizing for my snoring and he pulled out two earplugs he had worn to bed so he could hear what I was saying."

Poehler continued, "It was one of the most romantic gestures I have ever seen."
