Per usual, Amy Schumer is unapologetic about who she is, who she’ll never be, and what she stands for. The Comedy Central favorite accepted her Trailblazer honor at the Glamour UK’s Women of the Year Awards, and much to the audience’s surprise (or maybe not), Schumer shared her unashamed take on body image - more specifically, her body.
“I’m probably, like, 160 pounds right now and I can catch a d**k whenever I want. Like, that’s the truth. It’s not a problem. I’m not going to apologize for who I am, and I’m going to actually love the skin that I’m in. And I’m not going to be striving for some other version of myself,” she said.
Schumer, writer and star of the upcoming film Trainwreck directed by Judd Apatow, has a litany of stand-up jokes she’s told about body image and dating.
“I usually feel pretty good about myself. I know what I look like. You’d bang me, but wouldn’t blog about it. You wouldn’t be Twittering, ‘You won’t believe who I’m inside.’ It’s fine,” she said.
A trailblazer you are, Amy.
