The Hollywood power couple married in France on Saturday.
When pigs fly…we never thought we’d see the day. But after eight years together, nearly two years of engagement and six children, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are officially married. We’re hearing symphonies in our head with this exciting news and the intimate details of the ceremony make the celebration all the more sweet.
A spokesperson for the duo confirms that Pitt, 50, and Jolie, 39, were married Saturday in Château Miraval in France. Surrounded by family and friends, the two tied the knot in a small chapel. Reportedly a private ceremony, the guest list was at least a small crowd with their children all playing roles in the nondenominational civil ceremony.
Pitt and Jolie recently obtained a marriage license from a California judge and that same judge conducted the ceremony this past weekend in France.
Jolie walked down the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 11. Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, graced the aisle with flower petals. Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served their duty as ring bearers.
Pitt proposed to Jolie in 2012 after designing an engagement ring with Robert Procop. Their lengthy relationship was always destined for wedding bells, and it seems the little ones were the main reason to finally do it.
"We're getting a lot of pressure from the kids," Pitt told E! News months after proposing. "We didn't realize how much it meant to them and then, in getting engaged, how much it also means to us."
Even with this very happy news, we are only asking more questions…like what in the world did Jolie wear down the aisle and is there some sort of family portrait from the day we can take a peek at? Fingers are crossed for a small glimpse into the wedding we’ve all been waiting for.
Congratulations to the big happy family!
