Ariana Grande wants to make something very clear- she's not just Big Sean's ex or One Direction's Niall Horan's alleged new girlfriend, and she has no time for people who define her by her past, present or future relationships. She's Ariana Grande and she doesn't belong to anyone but herself.
The pop star took to Twitter on Sunday night to share her displeasure about how she's been treated by the media since her April split with rapper Big Sean.
"What I meant when I said what I said about not being Sean's ex is that I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man's past, present, or future PROPERTY / POSSESSION," she wrote. "I . . . do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you."

Grande also called out the double standards for men and women, and her hopes for a less misogynistic future.
"I can't wait to live in a world where people are not valued by who they're dating...but by their value as an individual. I want the people reading this to know that they are MORE THAN enough on their own," Grande wrote.
