Best Types of Shoes Video

best-types-of-shoes-videoWomen have a wide variety of different items in their closers, but the item they usually have the most of is shoes, as most women's closets can be considered "Shoe City". This isn't surprising when you consider the different types of shoes that are offered to women. This includes stilettos, flip-flops, sandals, wedges, boots, sneakers, you name it. Having a wide variety of shoes is great, but having a few staples in your closet that are affordable, long-lasting, and most importantly, will stay in fashion, is more important when it comes to the types and the amount of shoes a woman chooses to have.

Aricia Symes-Elmer, a Style Expert and owner of Shift Your Style, gives us some advice about which types of shoes, specifically heels, we should have in our closets that look great with many outfits and for many occasions, are affordable, and most importantly, will last through changing fashions and styles. After all, a good pair of shoes will last you a lifetime!

1. Simple Heel

Aricia says that the basic shoe every woman should have is a simple heel. They need to be practical enough to wear comfortably, but go with multiple outfits. Also, since nice women's shoes can sometimes be expensive, you're going to want a style that will last a long time. Aricia says that the basic pair of heels should be a simple stiletto heel-rounded on the tip and of a practical height. The tips don't have to be really narrow like the ones you see supermodels wearing, but they shouldn't be too wide or 'chunky' either.

2. Kitten Heel

She also recommends what is called a 'kitten heel' if you want a pair of shoes that still has a bit of a heel, but isn't as high as a stiletto. You should be able to find both types of heels at most shoe or department stores.

The shoes in the video are black, as are most of the dress shoes in my closet. It's important to also own a pair of brown heels as well. Whatever is in your closet, following Aricia's advice will ensure that you always have a stylish pair of shoes on hand for whatever might come your way.
