Bette Midler Singing at the Oscars

Bette-Midler-singing-at-oscars3For the first time ever, Bette Midler will be in the spotlight at the Oscars.

If you weren’t excited enough for the Oscars this year, we’ve got some stellar news for you. Bette Midler (68) will be singing at the Oscars for the very first time ever.

Even though she has been nominated for her performance in The Rose (1979) and For the Boys (1991), she’s only ever been offered to be a presenter at the show.

“We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time. We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening,” the show’s producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan said.

What song she will be singing is still unannounced.

The March 2nd award ceremony will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.

You might be surprised to also learn Midler is a singer-songwriter, film producer, entrepreneur and as we know her most commonly, an actress. If you’ve never heard Bette Midler sing, check out some of her past history with this video.
