Times for the tissues! This sweet love story of a man hurt in the Boston bombing who married his nurse will bring you to tears.
This sweet love story will make your heart melt! The Boston marathon bombing was a horrific tragedy that nobody will forget but a recent happily ever after occurred from the tragedy that is sure to make you believe in love! It’s been over a year since the tragedy where three people were killed and more than 260 people were injured, including a Massachusetts man named James Costello. He married the nurse that helped him recover from the accident, Krista D'Agostino. The couple exchanged what were sure to be some emotional and sweet vows last week in front of 160 guests.;
After the couple became engaged, Costello said he believed he was involved in the tragedy for a reason; to meet D'Agostino, his best friend and the love of his life, as he describes her. A photograph of Costello become a hugely recognized image from the 2013 attack where his clothes were ripped to shreds and parts of his body were badly burned. D'Agostino was his nurse at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital while he was recovering from numerous surgeries for shrapnel injuries and serious burns that required pig skin grafts on his right arm and right leg.
"One thing that she hates that I always say is I'm actually glad I got blown up," Costello said on the "Today" show in December. "I wish everyone else didn't have to, but I don't think I would have ever met her if I didn't." Even wedding planner Rachael Gross said she and the other vendors involved in the couple’s wedding donated their services.
The two were married at the Hyatt Regency Boston outdoors on the hotel's terrace, with blue and white hydrangeas all around the venue. The reception was held in the hotel's grand ballroom. Costello and D'Agostino, both 31, are honeymooning in Hawaii. Congrats to the happy couple on their amazing journey to love and tying the knot!
