britney-spears-alien-autotune-new-songUproar caused by fans who hear Spear's new song before auto-tune.

Britney Spears' version of "Alien" before auto-tune is a slightly strange sounding to us. Actually, more than slightly. The new song leaked on July 2 and caused an uproar for numerous media sources across the Internet due to the notes Spears' seemed to have a hard time hitting.

Here's the leaked song prior to auto-tune being used:

A quick rebuttal from track producer William Orbit was posted on Facebook a few days later:

"I'd like to affirm that ANY singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalisations in order to get warmed up," Orbit wrote.

"Warming up is essential if you’re a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I’ve heard all manner of sounds emitted during warm-ups. The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners. A generous singer will put something down the mic to help the engineer get their systems warmed up and at the right level, maybe whilst having a cup of herb tea and checking through lyrics before the session really kicks off. "

Although Orbit claims that "99% of us will understand the circumstances," after listening to the real version of Spear's new song, we can't help but wonder if that take was the real thing. The song sounds a bit alien-ish to us.

Take a listen to the final product. Is it much different?
