This country singer just became a mom for the first time!
American Idol alumna Carrie Underwood welcomed her little bundle of joy over the weekend. She announced the happy news on Instagram Tuesday morning.
"Tiny hands and tiny feet…God has blessed us with an amazing gift! Isaiah Michael Fisher – born on February 27. Welcome to the world, sweet angel!"
Underwood and NHL star Mike Fisher married almost five years ago after meeting in 2008 at one of Underwood’s post-American Idol concerts. The two have resided in an Oklahoma mansion for some time, which led to the obvious question on whether the two were planning on welcoming an addition anytime soon.
Finally on Labor Day last year, Underwood shared the exciting news with fans that she and Fisher were expecting in the spring. And it was Brad Paisley who broke the news (on live television) that the anticipated addition would be a little boy.
However, just a few weeks ago, the happy couple had still not decided on a name for their baby-to-be.
The "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer told People Magazine, "We don’t have a baby name. We need to lock that down here pretty soon. We joke a lot about funny things that go with Fisher, but there’s not some family name that I have had to be like, 'No, that’s terrible!'"
It’s obvious that a family name was stuck in the middle though, an ode to the baby’s daddy. Congrats on the couple for becoming a family with little Isaiah!
