Who knew employee disgruntlement can stem from an overkill of “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion? It’s true, and the blame is also piling on Justin Bieber.
According to Walmart executive vice president of supercenters Mike Moore, workers across the country are suffering mental exhaustion and even eye-tics from the continual loops of old songs playing over and over again on the store intercom.
“One of my fellow associates recently developed a serious eye-tic from hearing Celine Dion’s greatest hits on loop in our stores,” Moore said.
Besides Dion’s tired out greatest hits album, employees also mentioned on a few occasions that they definitely do not have Bieber Fever – in fact, employees would prefer if he were axed from the playlist altogether.
Although stores were previously permitted to select their own music playlists (often a looping CD), the super chain will now have a DJ based at their corporate marketing department and will play the role of picking music for all Walmart stores here on out.
Walmart might not love you, but we still do Celine!
