Inspirational caregiving! A "chemo buddy" got creative when it came to helping her friend, Ana-Alecia Ayala, feel better during a chemotherapy treatment. Daniella Andrus helped her friend show that even cancer can't stop them from getting their groove on.
Watch the pair dance it out to "Juju on the Beat" by Zayion McCall:
Ayala was diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer, which has spread to other parts of her body. Ayala told Dallas TV station KVUE that the hardest part of her in-patient chemo treatment was being away from her 3-year-old daughter.
"I want to encourage cancer patients' loved ones to step out of their comfort zones and be silly, have a dance party, be present in the moment and have a great time," ~Ana-Alecia Ayala in an interview with KVUE
The pair met in a fitness group before Ayala was diagnosed. She says Daniella has been by her side with entertaining stories, magazines and, yes, occasionally forcing to her get up and dance! This isn't the first time the pair has gotten funky with it: Another favorite was Meghan Trainor's "Me Too," but this is the first time they shared their dance off with the world. With millions of views, Ayala posted on her website that she can't believe how people are responding.
Ayala told KVUE that she hopes to inspire others: "Laughter is the best medicine, and I hope to make people smile, even at the expense of my bad dance moves."
