Comedy Club Night Out
Comedy clubs, across the country and around the world, have experienced a recent surge in popularity. A comedy club hosts a variety of acts including comedians, impersonators, ventriloquists, musical comedy acts, and magicians. However, stand-up comedians are the primary, featured performances at most comedy clubs, today. Stand-up comedy has enjoyed a long and varied history. Many people see the old vaudeville shows as the original stand-up platform. Actually, it could probably be traced back to the days of the court jester. Comedy clubs became extremely popular in the 50’s and 60’s. Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Redd Fox, Sam Kineson, and Bill Cosby were some the most renowned stand-up comedians. Since their hayday, comedy clubs slowly declined, earning a seedy reputation. However, pollsters have found comedy club audiences growing. If you haven't had a good laugh for a while, a night out at a comedy club may be in order.
