Add a kick of flavor to your cranberry sauce this holiday season.
Cranberry sauce is a holiday staple but serving the same recipe over and over to your family each year can get a little boring.
Why not change things up this year and surprise family, friends, or coworkers with a new take on the holiday dish. If you're looking for a unique cranberry sauce recipe, this will surely please you and others who try it!
Cranberry Sauce with a Kick
Even though I love classic cranberry sauce, sometimes it is nice to have something a little different. If you are looking to try a new holiday recipe this could do the trick.
For those not brave enough to switch things up for your traditional turkey dinner or worried your kids or family may not like it, you can serve both!
- 3 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 tbsp tequila
- 1/2 cup sugar
- zest of 1 orange, finely grated
- 1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (remove the seeds)
Combine all ingredients except the jalapeño into a sauce pan. Bring to a slow boil (stirring frequently) and cook until the berries pop. Add the jalapeño pepper and cook for another 5 minutes. Store in the refrigerator.
