DWTS Recap: Who Went Home?

dancing-with-the-stars-season-19-premiereDancing with the Stars Season 19 premiered last night.

And as usual, one of the 13 couples was the very first to get sent home. However this time, it wasn't the dancing pair who received the lowest scores from Monday’s performance.

Fashion designer Betsey Johnson and professional dancer/DWTS favorite Tony Dovoloni escaped the chopping block this week although they received the lowest scores from the judges.

In the end, viewers ended up being the deciding vote for this week’s show. Low scores from viewers resulted in three-time Olympian Lolo Jones being sent home. The track and field star Jones had paired with DWTS first-timer Keoikantse Motsepe and openly showed her disappointment about being eliminated so early.

Jones, 32, took to Facebook that night to compare her DWTS experience to her failed attempts at taking Olympic gold at two Summer Olympics and one Winter Olympics.

"When I was dancing last night and messed up I had flashbacks of the three Olympics ... that people constantly tease me about," Jones wrote in the lengthy and emotional post. "I thought oh no here it comes again. People are going to ridicule me. I'm so tired of feeling embarrassed."

Although both Johnson and Jones danced poorly, there is some speculation that Johnson’s partner Dovoloni, 41, made the difference by grabbing a lot of viewer votes. The DWTS veteran of 19 seasons won the mirrorball trophy back during the All-Star season with Melissa Rycroft and has quite a big fan base of his own. Jones’ partner Motsepe, an 8-time South African Latin Dance Champion, was a Dancing with the Stars newbie.

Jones and Motsepe were unable to recover from missed cues in their Cha Cha. Johnson had her own unfortunate malfunction with a boa which also led to a less-than-stellar performance.

Johnson, 72, said she was doing DWTS to see how far she could push herself. "Age is a matter of mind: If you don’t mind, it doesn't matter," she said.

Who do you think is leaving next? Should Lolo have been the first to get sent home?
