A new study shows that using diet sodas can be an effective way to lose weight.
Everyone has experimented with diets at least once. Diet sodas have been a controversial diet choice for quite some time, but updated studies show that they might actually be more effective than drinking water alone.
A study recently showed that people who drank diet soda lost thirteen pounds over a three month trial period, while people who only drank water lost only nine pounds over the same three month period.
The research showed that people who drank these diet drinks felt more full and did not eat as much, making them more likely to lose the weight.
“Obesity” journal is publishing the three month study that 303 participated in. Exercise and eating habits were regulated the same for both water and diet soda drinkers.
According to Daily Mail, 64 percent of the people who drank diet soda lost five percent of their body weight, while 43 percent of the people who drank water lost five percent of their body weight.
