Celebrate healthy eating every month. From the classroom to home to work, here are a few tips to help you eat healthier.

Eat the Rainbow!

Color your palette - color your plate. Make an effort to eat more fruits and vegetables in a variety of colors. The different colors result in different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Kids Pack Lunch

Get your kids involved in packing a healthy lunch and teach them simple swaps:

Swap cookies and cakes for fruit muffins or yogurt. Swap soda and fruit drinks for low-fat milk, water or 100% grape juice. Swap mayonnaise for mustard or hummus.

Coffee, Tea... or You!

Drinking coffee or tea can be good for your health. More research is revealing that coffee may help prevent Parkinson’s Disease by reducing inflammation in the brain.  Tea has been shown to prevent certain types of cancer, reduce the risk of heart attack and helps keep you hydrated.  But keep in mind that water is the best thing to keep at your desk.

Make Good Choices on the Run

If you’re on the go, fast food may be something you can’t seem to avoid.  But you can make healthy choices.  Try to keep the calorie count under 800 calories, skip the french fries, and ask for secret sauces on the side.  Add your own ketchup or mustard instead.
