Monday's 2014 Emmy Awards will feature a lot of stars, but one fallen star will get a particularly special tribute during the awards ceremony.
A tribute honoring the late Robin Williams will be led by longtime friend and fellow comedian Billy Crystal, Emmys producer Don Mischer told E! Online. News of the tribute was announced last week following lots of fan speculation as Hollywood continued to remember and honor the late comedian.
"We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable," Mischer said. "Billy seemed like a perfect choice."
"Plans for the In Memoriam segment are in discussion," Mischer said in a statement. "While we are all still coming to terms with this week's tragic news, we are working to give Robin Williams the proper and meaningful remembrance he so well deserves."
Williams was found dead at 63 earlier this month after committing suicide at his Tiburon, California home.
As millions of fans and fellow celebrities were left in shock, many took to social media to share their memories and honor Williams. Monday's tribute will be the first time Crystal speaks about his Father's Day co-star's death.
Crystal took to Twitter on Aug. 11 and simply wrote "No words."
