The world has been hit with a low blow: Another one of Hollywood's "it" couples has called it quits. Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. Jolie and Pitt are parents to six children, Maddox, 15; Pax, 12; Zahara, 11; Shiloh, 10; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8. The biggest shock to come out of the divorce filing is that Jolie has asked for sole physical custody of the children, only granting Pitt joint legal custody and visitation rights.
Jolie's entertainment attorney has said that she made the decision to divorce Pitt "for the health of the family." Despite rumors of Pitt having an affair with actress Marion Cotillard, it seems there was no third person involved, and her decision to file was based solely on Pitt's interaction with their children. Jolie lists the date of separation as Sept. 15, 2016, and did not ask for spousal support.
Fans of the pair have taken to social media to express their disappointment.

Sources like TMZ have been reporting that Jolie has become "fed up" with Pitt's consumption of weed, and possibly alcohol, as well as his alleged anger problem. According to those same sources, Jolie is "extremely upset with [Pitt's] methods" of parenting.
Pitt released a statement hours after news of the divorce broke, saying he was "very saddened" by the breakup, and that "what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time." TMZ reported that there's "no chance" that Pitt is going to allow Jolie full physical custody, but was quick to add that Jolie is a great mother and they don't want a messy divorce.
Many people, who are fans of Jennifer Aniston (who was married to Brad Pitt before he and Angelina Jolie began their relationship), took to social media to muse on how Aniston was taking news of the divorce.
