Fall Family Vacations

afall_family_vacationGreat Autumn Escapes for Families

It may be the end of summer vacation, but that doesn't mean it has to be the end of vacation all together. In fact, autumn is the prime season for many great travel destinations. So drag your family out of their post-summer vacation blues and enjoy the great outdoors, a little R&R or some fun in the sun with these great fall family vacations.

Kid Friendly Vacations

Autumn at All Inclusive Resorts: Summer is peak season for these resorts, so come Fall, both the prices and crowds are reduced significantly. If your children are not yet in school or have a fall break, this is a perfect time to take that tropical getaway. Many all inclusive resorts are very family friendly and come with built in amusement for your kids. Resorts like Club Med offer kid clubs as well as baby care rooms for those members are of the family prefer to be napping. Some even have clubs for teenagers that offer the opportunity to socialize while partaking in various activities like water sports, trapeze and movie nights. With peace of mind that their kids are being taken care of and having fun, parents can hit the golf course, relax at the spa or maybe even indulge in a margarita or two.

Autumn in National Parks:  Autumn brings with it some of the year's most beautiful scenery and wildlife. Visiting a national park may be the perfect fall family vacation. Whether you are on the east coast, west coast or somewhere in the middle, there is a national park near you. Most parks include camping areas that are equipped with all the basic amenities a family could need, ie: bathrooms, running water, fire pits and picnic tables. Whether you are hauling a camper or roughing it in a tent, there is an area for you. In addition to all the inherent activities of the outdoors like hiking, swimming and fishing, most parks provide ranger led programs. An autumn escape to one of our national parks and give your kids a taste of what people did for fun before Mario Kart, and traveling off season means a huge reduction in crowds.

Fall Farmer's Markets: Want to get away, but don't have the time or money for a vacation? Make some memories with your family close to home by heading to a local farmers market. Farmers markets can be found anywhere and they are at their height in fall. Ditch the grocery store pumpkin this year and let your kids pick out their own pumpkin right from the patch. If you do some research, you can find a market that also offers corn mazes or hayrides during this time of year as well.

Disney Theme Parks in Fall: You can't have an article on family fun travel destinations and not mention Disney. Why? Because you just can't go wrong with a Disney theme park. They are the go-to choice for parents for a reason. Again, autumn brings with it less crowds and cheaper prices with almost all the same attractions you would find during the peak summer season. These parks offer rides and activities for children of all ages, teenagers, parents, and even older adults (Around the world at Epcot anyone?). Check for deals online to plan your Fall Family Vacation at the Disney resort that's right for your family.
