The father-daughter dance is a traditional part of most wedding receptions. The DJ will play a slow song guaranteed to make you tear up (95 percent of the time that song will be "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong) and the bride and her dad will sway around the dance floor, holding back tears as best as they can.
However for Jim Mickunas, a father-daughter dance just didn't seem to reflect who he and his daughter Kandice are. So instead of waltzing around the dance floor, Mickunas surprised his daughter with a game of catch on the dance floor.
"My daughter has always found her own path," Mickunas wrote on the YouTube description of his video. "She played Flag football at 6. She hated wearing dresses. She wore a tuxedo to her first communion. She lettered in Soccer and Track. She then became an Engineer for the largest automaker in the world when she was 22. I could not imagine having a traditional father daughter dance with her. That is not what we were or are...So I came up with this. - She had no idea!"
Judging by the bride's face, she was more than happy to trade her slow dance for a baseball glove.
