For those of us who have dreamed of the day when there would be a LEGO set to match our "Notorious R.B.G." shirts, that day is finally here. A deputy editor at MIT News has created a LEGO set of the female Supreme Court justices and it's amazing, but unfortunately not for sale.
The creator, Maia Weinstock, has a long-time hobby of making LEGO sets that highlight female scientists and thinkers. Her "Legal Justice League" set features sitting Supreme Court Justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, as well as former Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
Her set may differ from the standard LEGO themes, but it's an amazing idea that promotes women in the workforce doing great things.
"It's important for kids to see examples of living people who are doing extraordinary things outside of Hollywood and sports," Weinstock told TIME.
Weinstock tried submitting her creation to the LEGO Ideas contest, but was not able to compete because of a policy against political themes. However, this viral idea is just one step closer to better educating children on the highest court in the land.
