We've got exciting news for those of you eagerly anticipating the release of Finding Dory!
The president of Disney Pixar studios, Jim Morris, shared a brief synopsis about the upcoming sequel at the recent CCXP - Comic Con Experience in Brazil, and it got us extremely excited!
According to Morris, the movie will pick up several months after the first film, where we'll find Dory living with Marlin and Nemo on their reef. After a school field trip triggers some of Dory's memories, the trio will embark on exciting journey to find Dory's parents. Much of the film will be taking place at the Marine Biology Institute of California where Dory will learn that she was born and raised at the facility before being released into the wild.
Morris also revealed a few of the new characters we can expect in the film. Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy will voice Dory's parents, Jenny and Charlie. Ty Burrell also joins the cast voicing a Beluga whale named Bailey. An octopus and sea lion are also on the list of new new characters to look out for.
Finding Dory is scheduled to hit theaters June 17, 2016, so until then, we'll just keep swimming and replaying Finding Nemo (or more fun, sharing Dory gifs...)
