This star is expecting - both on TV and in real life!
Grey’s Anatomy actress Sarah Drew is pregnant with her second child due in December, as confirmed by her rep. She and husband Peter Lanfer are already parents to son Micah, 2. Drew's character on the show, Dr. April Kepner, is also expecting with hottie Dr. Jackson Avery (Jessie Williams). Looks like she won't need a fake bump for the show!
This is not the first time Drew has recognized parallels between herself and her Grey’s character. Drew recently published an essay for the magazine Guideposts. She looked to her character when becoming a mother for the first time in 2011.
"My marriage was solid, I loved my job, but I was terrified, absolutely terrified, by the prospect of parenthood. What if I turned out to be an awful mom? It would be hard – if not impossible—to live up to the example set by my own parents," Drew said.
Drew looked to her character for guidance as she wrote she and Kepner "both take our faith very seriously."
After welcoming her son, Drew went on to say that her reservations and concerns about becoming a parent had dissipated.
"I haven’t lost my freedom being a mom. Maybe I get less sleep, but I feel freer to love, more compassionate, more understanding, more grateful," the actress explained.
After Drew shared the news online, her Grey's Anatomy co-stars were happy to congratulate her.

Now that Drew has overcome her fears of being a parent, we look forward to hearing about baby number two in the coming months – congrats to Drew and Nurse Kepner!
The Grey’s Anatomy season premiere is Sept. 25 on ABC – look out for the baby bump!
