Before Tuesday, Post Alley in Seattle's Pike Place Market was one of the grossest tourist attractions you'll probably ever come across.
For the past 20 years, passersby have been sticking their stale chewing gum on the alley's wall. Over time, they built a rainbow mosaic out of the multi-colored globs that took city workers 130 hours to power washed away.

Seattle city officials said the removed gum filled 94 buckets and weighed 1.75 tons! The city says its cleaning was necessary to preserve the historic status of the district's building.
