best-fitness-appsOverwhelmed by all of the fitness apps out there? Fitness experts are here to help. Technology is part of our lives and incorporating it into your fitness program makes great sense. Some of my favorite apps are “My Fitness Pal”, “Lose it”, and “Fitbit”. Here are some more favorite exercise apps from fitness experts in Chicago. Download their favorite to see if you've been missing out on the greatest fitness apps ever.

Paul's Advice

"RETRO FITNESS app. It allows you to track your workout progress, check class schedules and request a trainer."

Lisa's Advice

"One of my favorite fitness apps is the Yoga and Travel app by Forrest Yoga Master Instructor Allison English. Most people can manage a cardio or strength workout on their own, but not yoga. Allison takes you through several yoga poses and is very specific on what each movement should feel like. It's a great program for when you're traveling over the holidays or on business."

Stephanie's Advice

"There are over 170+ apps. Find an app that is easy for you to use and navigate and one that isn't too overwhelming."

Ziba's Advice

Her favorite app for fitness is the Tabata Timer app because you can get short-bouts of cardio in with major health benefits!

Marisol's Advice

Her favorite app for fitness is the Nike Total Conditioning.

before-the-interview-video

Intentions can be a powerful way to reach your goals. They are thoughts that drive you to your success and can be key in keeping you on track. Here are a few thoughts from health experts on intentions.

Lisa's Advice

"Everyday I set intentions. Ask yourself the minute you wake up how you want the day to go. Set yourself up for a great day. A great tip from there is to think of a phrase or mantra, write it on a Post-It note and stick it to your front door. Every time you leave you'll be reminded of that positive vibe!

Stephanie's Advice

"The bigger the WHY, the easier the HOW. When you are crystal clear on your intent to change your life, your changes will be more profound and long-lasting. Do you want to lose 10 pounds or do you want to feel confident about your body and excited to wear clothes? Get clear."

Ziba's Advice

"Don't think, just do! Put in the calendar, show up for it, that's it."

Marisol's Advice

"Work hard, be cognoscente of it and all you are capable of...then be grateful, for each moment is your life, what you consume, what you think, learn, who surrounds you...make it count. Trust that you care about you, know that you are doing the best for yourself and you won't let you down."

mind-and-body-support-groups-videoIt's important to get a little help from your friends. The statistics show that you will be 88% more successful in weight loss when you are involved weekly with people achieving the same goals. Health experts share some more thoughts on why support groups are so useful and important.

Lisa's Advice

"We all need support in our lives. Having a support group can make you feel like you're not alone, like you have a place to go and like you have a purpose. Also, getting advice from someone in a support group can feel less threatening and provide you with another viewpoint. Sometimes the way out of a mental rut is a fresh pair of ears on what you're struggling with."

Stephanie's Advice

"Support groups help because you don't feel alone. You can talk to and learn from others going through similar changes."

Ziba and Marisol's Advice

"It's always easier when you're held accountable by your fellow dancers. They can't perform without you."
