Detoxing made simple with this recipe! 

A typical fad in detox drinks is lemon water. This particular detox drink's main effect is to cleanse your body of toxins as well as lose a substantial amount of weight. Beyoncé reportedly did the hot lemon water detox diet and lost 20 pounds! While the typical time frame for the detox is 7-10 days, it could be extended up to 14. 

While on this diet, you essentially drink the lemon water and nothing else. It's a serious fasting detox so before going on it, consider your current health and consult your doctor. Take this diet one day at a time since you aren’t eating any solid foods - just drinking. 


What You'll Need

  • 1 lemon. The lemon is what purifies your body! Lemons have endless health benefits. 
  • Water
  • 2 tablespoons of pure organic maple syrup. Not only does it serve as a sweetener, it assists in detoxifying your body.
  • A dash of cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper speeds up your metabolism so it really adds a little kick to the diet, literally!



  1. Boil water and pour the hot water in a glass or mug.
  2. Slice up a lemon and squeeze the fresh lemon juice into the water and mix.
  3. Next add your maple syrup.
  4. Finally, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  5. Mix the drink together and enjoy!
