before-the-interview-video2Once you’ve been selected for an interview, putting your best self forward is key to getting the job.

Career experts Kathi Toll and Ellen Ericson share their tips for in-person interviews that help you land the job. See what they have to say about looking ready for every interview and making sure to do these key things to be considered for the job.

Ellen's Advice

"You have five seconds to make an impression – look the part! Be mindful of your non-verbals – it is 66% of your message. And lastly, have your stories ready because you’ve only got one shot to show how you can help them succeed!"

Kathi's Advice

"Do your research prior to the interview, so you dress appropriately. Even if it’s a business casual environment, go with the professional side of dress. Be personable and polite to everyone! You never know who is involved in the hiring process. Don’t be afraid to engage in small talk. Be observant—look around your environment. Are there pictures of children or a beautiful view? Make conversation around that to break the ice as you’re getting settled."
