Mature or older women enjoy classic movie greats that evoke sentiment and nostolgia.  But don't underestimate a good dose of laughter that puts a smile across their face.  Any movie that returns them to the yesteryears of their youth,which they fondly remember, are movies elderly women will love.  If your grandmother is a trendy hip-hop break-them-down type she may just love the latest new movie Obsessed featuring Beyonce and Ali Larter that has some serious up-to-the-minute action happening. Or she may also enjoy a sci-fi thriller like Aliens or Predator.  But for safe bets here is a list of movies grandma will like for sure.

The Family That Plays Together

After supper is done, the dishes are washed and everyone has their homework completed, what does the modern family do until bedtime?  Until recently, there were good books, playing outside until it was too dark to see and just talking to one another.  However, family time has been deeply influenced by exposure to a constant influx of new electronic media. Family time is supposed to be fun time.  But it has to be so for both you and the kids.  The trick is to get creative.  The computer is a part of every family's life now, whether you want it to be or not.  Let it work for you to keep your family together.

The era of the 1950s, known as the age of rock and roll as well as the birth of the comic strip "Peanuts," was a very exciting decade.  This was a time of plain, old-fashioned, good clean fun, which was reflected in many favorite television programs of the 1950s. What were your family's favorite 50's TV programs, and did your parents or grandparents remember gathering and watching them live each week, or did your family truly discover them in re-runs later?  What were the children, teens and adults of this electrifying era watching on their television sets?

Nostolgia Runs Strong With Old Songs for Commercials

Anything can evoke a memory.  It can be a smell that reminds you of cotton candy at the county fair or the song that reminds you of an old love.  But the mechanism that returns memories to the forward cache is never stronger than when you hear one of the old commercial jingles.  These are songs that played through your head hundreds of times.  Everyone who has seen the old "Andy Griffith Show" can whistle the theme (if they know how to whistle).  Are you a "Pepper"?  When you want some gum, do you hum the Wrigley's "Double your Pleasure with Doublemint Gum" song?  These memory triggers pleasantly bring back simple times and sunny days.
