Comedienne Joan Rivers is one mad diva!

Joan Rivers loves to dish it out to all the celebrities but can she take it? Apparently not, according to a recent interview with CNN. Rivers was being interviewed by CNN news anchor Fredricka Whitfield when the anchor described Rivers' critiques on her E!'s Fashion Police to be "very mean."

After anchor Whitfield made her comment, Rivers immediately defended herself by saying, "It's not mean, it's not mean, it's not mean. I tell the truth. I'm sure I say the same things that all the viewers say to their friends sitting next to them on the couch."

She also added that these celebrities she “insults” make millions of dollars. Do they really care that Rivers doesn’t like their dress?

It all went down hill when CNN made a comment about the fact that she is wearing a fur coat on the cover of her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva

Rivers became completed agitated calling the interview a defensive interview and asking the anchor if she was wearing leather shoes. When the anchor said yes, Rivers told her to shut up!

Before Rivers stormed off set she said, "You know what, I'm going. I'm really going because all you've done is be negative," she continued. "I've made people laugh for 50 years. I was put on Earth to make people laugh and my book is funny."

Whitfield later stated she wondered if the whole walkout was a PR stunt. After Rivers left, sources say she left her microphone in and starting saying some pretty unflattering, inappropriate four-letter words.

Rivers later said in a statement, "I do not do, and never have done, PR 'stunts.' The CNN interviewer was a news reporter and not an entertainment reporter. She did not seem to understand we were talking about a comedy book and not the transcripts from the Nuremburg Trial [sic]. Every question was an accusatory one designed to put me on the defensive. She seemed to miss the point that Diary of a Mad Diva is simply a very funny book and as Winston Churchill said, if you can make one person laugh, even for a minute, it's like giving them a little vacation."

So...we have to ask, was Rivers out of line or the anchor?
