Hello! My name is Joanna King. I have been in and around the wedding business for almost half of my life. Along with weddings, I have a music degree in oboe performance and have worked as a freelance makeup artist. I have a desperate need to utilize my creative side. Whether I express myself visually, musically or through my words, I try to engage those who will see, hear or listen. In the past year the wedding industry has become a way to show your closest family and friends not only your love for your spouse but your creative side. There is now added pressure for you as a bride to, not only make it down the aisle without tripping, but to throw your guests the party of a lifetime!
The Purpose of Antebellum Collections
The south has a charm, elegance, and magnitude about it. Being from Austin, Texas, I know a thing or two about southern living. My venue, The Plantation House, is a plantation-style mansion set on five acres (think “Gone with the Wind”). My focus is to bring you the most up to date information on the latest trends, beauty, and of course, etiquette. And, no, you don’t have to be old-fashioned to be lady-like. I like to focus on what it means to be a “chic lady.” I truly believe that fashion and weddings go hand in hand, and what we think is beautiful and desirable is ever-changing and evolving. I will provide valuable insight on selecting the right wedding vendors and help you know when you have found a deal that is too good to be true. Being an educated bride is incredibly important. Not knowing the right questions to ask going in to a consultation can get you into a world of trouble. Knowing what to look for and what questions to ask will save you a lot of stress in the decision making phase. Overall, I want to relay my message in an informative, entertaining and unique way. What to Expect
I’m a girly-girl who has had a life-long obsession with fashion. There is a direct correlation with fashion and weddings, yet some do not realize it. Weddings are unique in that they meld trend and tradition. You hold on to the things that are old and steadfast while at the same time bringing in the life of something fresh and new. Wedding trends change with the seasons. So how do you stay with the trends when you are planning your wedding eight months to a year in advance? You can peruse my words based on a plethora of research and daily planning meetings with my brides. Enjoy reading my take on the trends, tips and tricks of the wedding industry.
