Hollywood heartthrob Jude Law has welcomed a new baby daughter, becoming a dad for the fifth time. The 42-year-old actor announced the happy news via a representative, saying that both parents are "delighted and continue to ask that their privacy and that of their child be respected."
Law shares his new daughter with up and coming singer 23-year-old Catherine Harding who goes by the stage name of Cat Cavalli. The pair are believed to have conceived the baby after a whirlwind romance when Cavalli joined Law for a six week location stay in the Czech Republic where he was filming Spy. While Cavalli has yet to enjoy mainstream success in the music business, she has been championed by celebrities such as Perez Hilton.
News of the pregnancy was revealed last October, by which time the couple had already parted ways. A representative at the time said, "I can confirm that Jude Law and Catherine Harding are expecting a child together in the spring. Whilst they are no longer in a relationship, they are both wholeheartedly committed to raising their child. "
"They consider this a private matter and other than this confirmation, no statement will be made. "
While the pair are no longer romantically involved, Cavalli is believed to be living in West London not far from Law, who is believed to be committed to supporting Cat financially.
Jude Law has three children with his ex-wife Sadie Frost: Rafferty, 18, Iris, 13, and Rudy, 12. The Grand Budapest Hotel star also has a five-year-old daughter named Sophia, who he shares with model Samantha Burke following a brief relationship back in 2008.
