On Saturday night, pop bad boy Justin Bieber sat in the front row at the Comedy Central taping where he received a four hour Roast thanks to his past misdemeanors. The Baby singer endured the sharp end of Roast master Kevin Hart's tongue, with celebrities including Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, Shaquille O'Neil, Jeff Ross, Hannibal Buress and Chris D'Elia all chiming in.
The show began with Hart announcing: "Tonight we are gonna do what parents and the legal system should have done a long time… give the boy an ass wooping he deserves."
For the first time at a celebrity roasting, — and perhaps unknown to the young star — a split screen had been set up so that audience could watch Bieber's reaction between jokes. And while Beebs initially looked pretty nervous, he did appear to settle into the festivities as time went on.
It seems there were no topics off limits during the evening with Hart making jokes about Bieber's ex-girlfriend Selena, saying: "Selena Gomez couldn't be here tonight. Just because she didn't want to be here."
However, after taking the Roasting in good humor, it was Justin that got the final word, and a standing ovation. "Damn, you guys were brutal,” Bieber said. “This was supposed to be a birthday present. When people ask me what I got for my 21st birthday, I’ll tell them I got my d--k kicked in. I should have known.”
"What do you get when you give a teenager $200 million?" Bieber continued. "A bunch of has-beens calling you a lesbian for two hours."
The Confident singer went onto apologize for his bad behavior, saying: "I turned a lot of people off over the past few years, but I know I can still turn out good music and turn everything all around," he said. "I've lost some of my best qualities. For that, I am sorry… I'm looking forward to being someone who you guys can all look at and be proud of."
He added, "Someone close to me once said, 'It's how you rise from a fall that truly defines you as a man.' I'm excited for that challenge. And I want to say thank you for taking this journey with me."
