Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their second child!
In a Monday statement from the Clarence House, a royal pregnancy was announced. "Their Royal Highness, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."
Prince George Alexander Louis just turned one on July 22 and people began wondering if another happy announcement was on the horizon and those instincts served right. Kate is reportedly about eight weeks pregnant. Much like her first pregnancy, the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum (acute morning sickness).
Consequently, Kate is being cared for while Prince William traveled to an event in Oxford on Monday.
"Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany the Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace," stated the published press release.
Right behind Prince George, the new arrival will become fourth in line for the throne, which pushes poor Prince Harry back to fifth. Even though Harry is falling to the bottom of the royal totem pole, he expressed his excitement for his soon-to-be niece or nephew.
In a statement earlier Monday, Harry jokingly poked fun at brother William becoming a dad for a second time. "I can't wait to see my brother suffer more. If it's a girl he'll suffer even more. I'd love to see him try and cope with that."
If Kate’s first pregnancy serves as insight for how this pregnancy will pan out, the sex will not be revealed until the baby is born, and there will be civilians and news tents camped outside St. Mary’s Hospital beginning in March until the happy couple walks out as a family.
