After adorable pictures of kittens, puppies and babies, watching cute proposal videos ranks high on our list of internet guilty pleasures. And the latest guy to capture our attention made many social media users sob like a baby after he revealed he'd proposed to his girlfriend every day for the past year without her knowing.
Romantic fiancé-to-be Dean Smith from Scottsdale, Arizona, secretly filmed himself holding signs up asking his girlfriend to marry him without her realizing. The video, which was painstakingly created over 365 days, was delivered to Jennifer on her birthday while on a large family vacation in Aruba.
The video opens with Smith explaining, "Happy birthday Jennifer. By now you’ve probably realized that your birthday surprise is in the form of this video. But what you don’t know is that I’ve been planning this birthday surprise for over a year now."
The video then proceeded into a montage with Dean holding up a white board with various phrases over 365 days such as, "Will you make me the happiest man in the world?” and “Will you be my wife, Jen?”
After the video montage comes to end with the proposal that Dean made just a day before, it instructs Jennifer to turn around from her chair.
There he is, right behind her with whiteboard in hand, ready to pop the question one last time in person.
While Jennifer may have been delighted, men everywhere are likely to feel the pressure to top the gesture. Twitter user Brooke_Budway tweeted, "Every girl's expectations for proposals just skyrocketed after seeing that 365-day proposal video #sryboys."
Fellow Twitter user xxTaraKathrynxx tweeted, "This 365-day marriage proposal is the cutest thing in the world."
