With classic lines like "a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down," words like "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," the memorable carousel scene and other gems from the 1964 Mary Poppins starring Julie Andrews, could anything replace the original movie in our hearts?
Apparently, we won't have to play favorites. Although Disney is redoing many of its classics (Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and now reportedly The Jungle Book), the brand new Mary Poppins movie that's reportedly in the making will be set in London during the Depression and feature a brand new plot based on author P.L. Travers' other books about the magical nanny who changes the lives of the Banks family.

What else can you expect from the all new musical film? Major musical chops, as the director of Into The Woods Rob Marshall as well as producers John DeLuca and Marc Platt will be helming the project.
Now, the biggest question has to be who will play Mary Poppins? It's hard to follow in Julie Andrews' shoes, so the newest Mary Poppins will have to have notable musical abilities. Apparently Anne Hathaway, Kristen Bell, Amy Adams, and Emily Blunt are a few of the actresses being considered for the role.

We personally don't think it'll be too hard for Anne Hathaway or Kristen Bell to reprise the role of the magical nanny as they've already starred in some Mary Poppins parodies.
Here's Kristen Bell's version...
And Anne Hatahway's...
Of course, the Twitterverse has its own opinions. You'd think people would be debating who should play Mary Poppins, but instead people are outraged that there will be a reboot at all!
I'm sorry. You can't remake #marypoppins. You just can't.— Mehdi Hasan (@mehdirhasan) September 15, 2015

Ouch... Maybe don't ruin a good thing when you have it?
