melissa-etheridge-is-married-2-headerMelissa married her fiance Linda Wallem over the weekend.

We've all rocked out to Melissa Etheridge songs and felt the girl power. And after this weekend, Melissa can enjoy the power of true wedded bliss. Etheridge and her now wife, Linda Wallem, got engaged after the Supreme Court of the United States struck down California's Proposition 8 banning gay marriage.

All of Etheridge's four children took part in the ceremony. Some big names were on site to show their support for the happy couple including Jane Lynch, Chelsea Handler, Rosie O'Donnell, Whitney Cummings, and Peter Facinelli.

For many people, Melissa Etheridge's wife, Linda Wallem, 53, isn't a household name, but you probably know of her. We got the inside scoop on who she is, so we bring you five little known facts about Linda Wallem.

She's also a Hollywood star. Wallem is the creator of the Showtime series Nurse Jackie and is now a show runner and executive producer for the show. She has written for Cybill and That 70's Show and was co-executive-producer for The Comeback.

She shares a birthday with her new wife. Both of the happy brides turned 53 on May 29th, which is also their wedding day.

She is working with Etheridge, too. The couple is reportedly working on a Broadway show together. Etheridge will oversee the music and Wallem the story line, of course. "It's really edgy and cool," the singer said. "I'm very excited about it."

She has a famous brother. Linda's brother is Stephen Wallem, who plays Thor in the Showtime series Nurse Jackie. "She got me in the door for the very first audition," Stephen said, "but after that I was on my own."

She and Etheridge have been best friends for nine years. "I've never been friends with someone for that long and then entered into a romantic relationship..." Etheridge said. "She's my friend and it's really pretty amazing. I'm happier than I've ever, ever been."

And we're happy for her. Be on the lookout for more stories about the couple as their Broadway show develops and they become a Hollywood power couple.
