My name is Nancy Van Tine and I am a lawyer at Burns and Levinson LLP, a mother of one, a grandmother of four wonderful grandchildren, and have been married for over 46 years. In addition to my work as an attorney, I also run a blog, Massachusetts Divorce Law Monitor. You see me in the near future on WomensforumTV discussing the basics of going through a divorce, what to expect, and how to overcome this hard and unexpected time in life.
Over the past 30 years, my career in family law has exposed me to many different people and many different stories. You may wonder how I choose this line of work. Knowing I am helping people control (a key word here since I am a self-professed control freak) difficult situations inspires me.
Nancy’s Career and Passion
Divorce is a crazy, stressful, unpredictable experience for all involved. Trust me, as a divorce attorney for over 30 years, I have seen my share of cases. Because of this, I created my blog, Massachusetts Divorce Law Monitor, to help prepare people for the expectations and demands of the divorce process, shine light on questions many people ask about divorce, and give those going through this process a bit more knowledge and confidence. I also cover topics such as domestic abuse, gay marriage, and tips for choosing a divorce lawyer.
My clients take comfort in knowing that my team and I are at their sides, and my blog readers gain insights that can help them prepare as best as possible. Every time I post an entry, I hope to help people gain perspective on what is ahead on their path towards divorce. There aren’t always friends and support systems around during divorce; a good lawyer can be there for you, though.
