Turnera diffusa, known as Damiana, is a small shrub with aromatic leaves found on the dry, sunny, rocky hillsides in south Texas and Southern California. The dried leaves are known to help boost sexual desire in women, increase energy and aid in menstrual problems as well.
Damiana is thought to stimulate the intestinal tract and bring oxygen to the genital area. This increases energy levels and can help to restore libido and desire especially in women. The aphrodisiac effect of this herb has been said to improve sexual fitness and performance.
Damiana has been used in liquors, in pipes and steeped in hot water as a tea. It is considered a natural remedy to improve sex drive.
