Women have longer life expectancies than men. On the average, a female will live 82 years of age while their male counterparts live only 79 years of age. Even though this study, recently released from Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, showed data that the female life span is declining in much of the world, premature death for women is at 1.5%, while males show almost 10%.
Why Are Women Living Longer?
This new research from Japan shows that a weakened immune system is the cause. They tested white blood cells to determine the immunity levels in both men and women. Stress, no doubt, is a major cause of breaking down the system and stress levels may be related to a male's role in the household (most commonly as the main bread winner, even today).
In any case, lifestyle choices and stress management are key to longer, healthier lives.
