Divorce and separation rumors have plagued Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey's marriage for months, but Cannon confirmed during an appearance on Good Morning America that the couple has indeed separated.
Cannon was on the show to promote his new children's book Roc and Roe's 12 Days of Christmas, which is based off the twins he shares with Carey. During the interview, GMA Host Lara Spencer brought up his and Carey's relationship status saying, "You and I were just talking, Mariah and you are separated, Christmas is about family first and foremost."
To which Cannon responded, "Always focus on family. We'll forever be family. At the same time, we're there for our children, making them the No. 1 priority and understanding they're loved and can have an amazing holiday."
We're glad to hear that Cannon and Carey are doing their best to give their kids an amazing holiday, especially in what's sure to be a difficult time for their family. Although it's sad to see the pair officially splitting, here's to hoping that the family finds peace and happiness in the new year.
